West Brom have had a brilliant start to the season and currently sit top of the Premier League after a 3-2 win away to Preston North End.

Their attacking unit of Dwight Gayle, Jay Rodriguez, Matt Phillips and Harvey Barnes have scored 20 goals between them already his season and look set to be the main driving force behind the Baggies.

But what about those lying deeper?

The holding midfielders at West Brom have been going about their business quietly, but effectively.

Moore, however, has struggled to settle on a pairing week in week out with Gareth Barry, Jake Livermore and £2.25m-rated Chris Brunt rotating frequently.

So we thought we would get the thoughts of the Baggies' fans on one of those, Chris Brunt.

We asked them to rate his season so far from poor to excellent.

51% of respondents rated his season as average and 28% rating him as poor with just 14% saying he has had a good season.

The verdict

It is hard to disagree.

Jake Livermore has been the Baggies' stand out midfielder whilst Brunt has been largely ineffective so far this season.

His experience will most likely come into use towards the back end of the season, however, and could be crucial in seeing Darren Moore's side get back into the Premier League.
