The international break is in the spotlight at present, but there is still plenty going on in the Championship despite the two-week hiatus.

After a relentless period of second-tier football, a week with no action is upon many football fans up and down the country.

But with players unable to do their talking on the field, there has certainly been plenty off of it.

There’s enough to keep idle minds busy without any competitive domestic football to cling on to.

And with the busiest part of the season fast approaching, we thought it would be beneficial to offer you a Friday morning round-up of all things West Bromwich Albion.

Here, then, are some of the biggest talking points concerning the club right now…

Starting with an interview with the Express and Star, where Dwight Gayle has revealed that it has “crossed his mind” regarding staying with the Baggies past the expiration of his loan deal.

His temporary deal runs until the end of the season, but this latest update will be music to plenty of West Brom supporters’ ears.

Gayle has scored nine Championship goals in 14 appearances since moving to the Hawthorns.

With talk of players potentially staying, meanwhile, others are definitely leaving.

And that confirmed exit has been revealed as Alex Palmer.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper has moved to League Two Oldham Athletic on an emergency loan until Friday, November 22.

It is a seven-day loan ratified by the Football League with the Latics' number one away on U21 international duty this weekend.

Finally, West Brom tweeted an impressive statistic to keep their fans going during the international break.

After their 4-1 hammering of Leeds United last weekend, the number of goals scored this year moved up to 37 for the season in 17 Championship matches.

Thus making them the highest scoring team in all four top professional football leagues in the country.

Some statistic for a team that only managed 31 last term in 38 top-flight matches as they finished bottom of the Premier League.

It has been some turn around for the Baggies who, this term, have more goals than Manchester City and all of the other 91 league clubs.
