Morgan Gibbs-White thanked the Sheffield United support as the team secured a play-off place with a 4-0 thumping of champions Fulham today.

The Blades knew they needed a win to finish in the top six and they were rampant from the start, racing into a three-goal lead by the 25th minute mark.

Once again, Gibbs-White was the star man, as the on-loan Wolves man scored the opener and then set up Iliman Ndiaye to double the advantage, with Sander Berge netting the third before Enda Stevens wrapped it up after the break.

It capped off what has been a remarkable regular season for Gibbs-White, who will be crucial to Paul Heckingbottom's side as they look to beat Nottingham Forest in the semi-final next week.

And, the forward took to Twitter to praise the supporters who packed out Bramall Lane this afternoon.

"Play offs secured ⚔️ thank you for everything."

The 22-year-old ends the season on 11 goals and nine assists, with his performances making him one of the standout performers in the Championship this season.

The verdict

This was a brilliant afternoon for the Blades and once again Gibbs-White was central to everything positive the team did.

Of course, his main contribution was to score the crucial opener, which gave Sheffield United the platform to kick-on and ensured that there weren't many nerves around the place, particularly as he set up the second shortly after.

So, the fans will appreciate this message and they will want the loanee to continue his fine form when they take on Forest in the play-offs.
