Bolton's upcoming home games against Ipswich and Middlesbrough may be called off after the club's stadium safety certificate was withdrawn.

BBC Radio Manchester revealed how the 'Councils' Safety Advisory Group have issued the club with a prohibition notice', which would prevent supporters from entering the ground.

The group also commented, explaining how the club have failed to act and how they won't risk the safety of the public: "Every effort has been made to give the club enough time to put adequate matchday operation standards in place.

"Safety and security remain our primary concern and while we recognise that spectators may be disappointed, we are not prepared to put the public at risk."

This is the latest development concerning the Trotters, with the first-team squad not turning up to training for a second successive day today as they take a stand following another late payment on wages to club employees.

As well as that, they face a High Court hearing tomorrow, with owner Ken Anderson desperately trying to sell the club.

Former Watford owner Laurence Bassini is believed to be close to buying the struggling Championship side.

The Verdict

This is more bad news for Bolton and you have to feel sorry for the fans as the situation they are in is really concerning.

Clearly, this needs to be rectified as soon as possible and they don't have much time to sort things.

It's going to be hectic few days for the club as they gear up for the High Court case tomorrow as well.
