Speculation surrounding the future of Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish has taken yet another twist, after it was reported that Premier League side Crystal Palace are considering the midfielder as a potential replacement for Wilfried Zaha.

Grealish has performed a key role for Villa again this season, helping his side to a club record ten consecutive league wins to secure a place in the play-offs with two games of the season remaining.

Once again Grealish's performances have seen him linked with a number of Premier League sides, with The Daily Mail now reporting that Palace are considering Grealish as a replacement for their own talisman Zaha.

It would surely need a big fee to convince Villa to part company with Grealish, but with Palace reportedly valuing Zaha at £80 million, any transfer involving the Ivorian would surely give them the funds to make a move for the Villa man.

So would Grealish be the right man to replace Zaha at Selhurst Park? We asked some of our Football League World writers for their thoughts.

Gary Hutchinson

“Wow, is he the right man?

“He’s better than Zaha. Much better.

“I’d be surprised if they pulled this off though, Grealish will go to the top six or not at all.

“It’s like me saying I’m targeting a Range Rover to replace my Astra.

“It’s a nice idea, but it isn’t happening.”

Jacob Potter

"He's the perfect replacement.
"Grealish has already shown that he can almost single-handedly take Aston Villa back into the Premier League this season and he would certainly be capable of making the step up to the top-flight.
"He'd suit Palace's style of play as well and would be an excellent option to have playing in behind the striker at Selhurst Park."
Louie Chandler
"He would be more than adequate.
"Both players have that knack of being able to win matches on their own and possess that star quality every team needs.
"However, with the likes of Spurs interested, I do not think Palace have a hope of signing him."
Toby Wilding
"While there can be no doubt that Grealish is ready for the step up to the Premier League, you wonder whether he is the best man to replace Zaha.
"The thing that Palace will miss most should Zaha move on is his ability to finish chances. When you take out Luka Milivojevic’s admittedly remarkable record from the penalty spot, Zaha is the only major goal threat really available to Palace right now.
"Grealish’s own goal scoring record (15 in 140 for Villa) suggests that this is not his biggest contribution to his side, so while he may be able to create the chances for Palace, they would still be missing someone to finish them off."
