David Prutton is expecting Leeds United to stop their losing streak against Brentford this evening, lifting some of the mounting pressure on Thomas Christiansen, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted Brentford and Leeds to play out a 1-1 draw at Griffin Park, with Ollie Watkins continuing his excellent goalscoring form for the Bees by opening the scoring.

Brentford enter tonight’s contest as the Sky Bet Championship’s form side, with the longest unbeaten streak in the division. Dean Smith’s side are unbeaten in their last eight Championship fixtures, a run that has helped lift the Bees to 15th in the table, putting a disappointing start behind them.

Leeds’ form is a stark contrast to Brentford’s, with the Whites suffering six defeats in their last eight Championship fixtures, which has seen Christiansen’s side slip out of the top-six for the first time since August.

The Whites have suffered back-to-back home defeats in the last week, with Sheffield United and Derby County both coming away from Elland Road with maximum points.

The last time Leeds were away from home in the Championship, Christiansen’s side picked up a 3-0 victory over Bristol City.

The Verdict

This is an incredibly intriguing fixture in the Championship, as Brentford and Leeds could not be in more contrasting form heading into the contest.

Smith’s side have been excellent in recent weeks, but despite Leeds’ troubles, Christiansen’s squad still has plenty of talent that can hurt Brentford.

It will be tight at Griffin Park this evening, and a goal either way could settle the game.
