Luke Bolton continued his impressive start to the 2019/20 campaign last night with an encouraging display for England’s Under-20 side.

The 19-year-old, who is currently on loan at Luton Town from Manchester City, helped his country secure a dramatic 1-0 victory over Switzerland at the Leichtathletik-Stadion.

Despite starting the clash brightly, England were unable to create any clear cut opportunities in the first-half as the hosts proved to be resilient in defence.

Searching for the winner in the second-period, manager Keith Downing decided to bring on Bolton who would go on to make a telling impact for his side.

With the game edging towards a stalemate, the teenager received the ball out wide and delivered a sumptuous cross for Leeds United loanee Jack Clarke who duly headed home to clinch victory.

Following the clash, Bolton posted a video of his assist on Twitter alongside the following comment: “90+2.

“Left it late but got the W and an assist.”

Upon seeing this tweet, plenty of Luton fans reacted in a positive manner.

Here are some of the best comments from the club’s supporters…

Bolton could be in contention to make his fifth appearance of the season for the Hatters when they head to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Saturday to face Queens Park Rangers in the Championship.
