Sheffield Wednesday host Leeds United at Hillsborough on Sunday in one of the most appealing games of the weekend in the Championship.
The Owls are on a poor run, having lost to bitter rivals Sheffield United and then Birmingham in the past week, which has significantly increased the pressure on boss Carlos Carvalhal.
Pundit David Prutton featured for both sides in his career and he feels things could be about to get a lot worse for the Wednesday manager.
“Is Carlos Carvalhal starting to feel the strain? The pressure is on now,” he wrote for Sky Sports.
He predicts that the Whites will win and went for a 1-0 scoreline with Pierre-Michel Lasogga to grab the only goal.
“Leeds, meanwhile, got battered at Cardiff in midweek and, after two away defeats in a row in the Championship, will need to learn to keep things a bit tighter on the road. But Thomas Christiansen has impressed me so far and I think they’ll nick it.”
The visitors are third in the table and still boast the third best away record in the division despite defeats on their last two trips.
You get the feeling the pressure is on Wednesday to deliver on Sunday for the big crowd that will once again show up.
They can rightly feel let down with the derby defeat and they now need to get their season back on track.
However, it’s going to be extremely tough as Prutton points out, with Leeds playing some excellent football so far this season under their new boss and you can see why he’s gone for an away win.
