Jos Luhukay is certainly is a man under pressure at Sheffield Wednesday this season and his future as manager of the club is looking bleak.

Sheffield Star journalist, Dom Howson, has claimed that Luhukay didn't take first-team training this morning ahead of their match against Preston North End on Saturday.

It is also understood that the Owls boss held a meeting with owner Dejphon Chansiri instead of taking training on Friday morning, as the pair discuss his future in charge.

Luhukay's assistant Remy Reynierse and first-team coach Lee Bullen oversaw first-team training in his absence.

The Owls are currently sat 18th in the Championship table and they have only won one of their last ten league games, which is hugely concerning for supporters.

Many of whom will be fearing that the club could be relegated this season with Luhukay in charge of first-team matters at Hillsborough.

Reports in the Dutch media have also suggested that Luhukay has already been sacked but Howson also claims that it remains unclear as to whether he has been dismissed or not, after speaking to a number of his reputable sources.

It's sure to be an interesting few hours at Sheffield Wednesday, with this latest news being the worst possible news heading into a crucial fixture that could potentially decide which direction their season heads.

The Verdict

What ridiculous timing this is.

I'll admit that Luhukay should have been sacked a long time ago when they showed a real dip in form, but they shouldn't be considering dismissing him the night before a game.

This will only hamper their plans for tomorrow's game and it just sums up what a real mess Sheffield Wednesday are in at the moment.
