Bolton Wanderers are targeting a takeover this Sunday, with the playing squad not expected to go to the EFL over the late payment of wages.

It’s been a turbulent week for the Trotters, with Ken Anderson looking to sell the club.

According to Alan Nixon, Sunday is now the day that Anderson is targeting for the takeover.

In addition to that the playing squad will not go to the EFL over the late payment of their wage, with Anderson also promising to pay his players on Monday should the takeover take any longer.

There was also a separate update from Nixon that stated the Basran team, who according to the Bolton News, are the frontrunners to takeover, have an ‘extension to exclusivity’, although that runs out soon.

Currently, Bolton are fighting for their lives in the Sky Bet Championship, with Phil Parkinson’s side looking like they could be falling back into the third-tier after two years back at this level.

After last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Swansea City, Bolton are now preparing for an enormous clash with Millwall tomorrow afternoon at the University of Bolton Stadium.

The Verdict

These things do take time, but this takeover has dragged on for too long and for everyone associated with Bolton, it needs to be completed.

Things have got so messy under Anderson and he, plus the club, need a fresh start and this finalising.

It’s not helping matters on the pitch or in the stands.
