Sheffield Wednesday suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Blackburn this afternoon.

A Bradley Dack and Danny Graham inspired Rovers side saw off the Owls in impressive fashion at Ewood Park to pile more pressure and misery on under fire Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay.

The result left the Owls only five points above the relegation zone in the Championship, and there was even more bad news for the Sheffield club following the game, with Luhukay confirming that forward Fernando Foriestieri has a damaged hamstring and will need to be assessed.

The influential forward has missed big chunks of the season already and it is clear to see that when he plays, the Owls are a better side going forward in terms of creating, and sticking away the chances.

News of another potential injury is bound to be a setback for Luhukay and the club's fans, who will be keen to see their team get back some of their better players, with the likes of Gary Hooper and Kieran Lee also on the long term injury list at the moment.

The Verdict

This just adds more salt to an already deep wound for Wednesday fans.

Forestieri can be one of the best players in the league on his day, but it's just not happening for him at the moment, and this injury sums his last 12 months up really.

If he is out long term, then it's a bitter blow, and Luhukay certainly needs all his best players fit and firing if he is to see an improvement.
