Nottingham Forest were staring down the barrel at a relegation dogfight just a few weeks ago but a draw followed by three consecutive victories have lifted them away from the drop zone and now they will definitely be looking upwards rather than over their shoulder.
Philippe Montanier’s position as manager has probably been saved due to uncertainty over the club’s ownership but he is slowly turning things around at the City Ground.
Forest’s home victory over league leaders and “champions-elect” Newcastle United (albeit against nine men after Shelvey and Dummett saw red) was a real statement to the rest of the league that the Reds are ready to compete with the big boys in this league.
In order to do this, Montanier will need to squeeze the best out of some his players in this talented squad.
A few have not been pulling their weight so far and here are two that Montanier should aim to get more out of.
