Nottingham Forest have yet to hit top gear this season and this is reflected in their league position.

The Reds are currently in a perilous position just above the drop zone, something Montanier needs to address quickly.

He will be hoping to begin their climb up the table on Saturday away at Ipswich Town, who aren't in the greatest of form themselves, so it presents a good opportunity for three points.

Forest have struggled to recruit over the past few years, largely due to the fact that they have been under a transfer embargo.

After the embargo, they have found life a little easier when it comes to recruitment, but they still cant compete with the super powers of the league.

Montanier brought in Nicklas Bendtner which is a very astute signing for the Championship and he is someone Montanier will be hoping can pull them away from the bottom three.

Here, FLW's Chris Wilson will look at TWO players who Montanier should use as impact subs against Ipswich...

Apostolos Vellios

Vellios got off to a good start to life at The City Ground after joining from Greek side Iraklis, scoring a few goals, and delivered some good on the side.

The 6'4" striker is physical and defenders nightmare to mark him and win headers because he is so strong.

Vellios would start for Forest but for Assombalonga, who poses a huge goal threat and has a proven record in the Championship which is why he starts ahead of Vellios.

The Greek international is a great player to bring on late on when defenders start to tire and lose concentration.

His presence in the box would enable Forest to get balls into the box and he would be fresher, holding the advantage over the defender.

Lica

Lica was another summer signing for Forest but he has found first team football very hard to come by, spending most of the season on the bench.

He faces stiff competition for a starting berth at Forest, with the Reds often not operating with out and out wingers.

The Portuguese international could play a key role as a substitute, he could be brought on late on to try and create chances going forward.

Lica's trickery and creativity could prove vital for Forest if they are chasing a game.

Lica offers something different to the Forest team and it would give the Ipswich something different to deal with.
