Birmingham have a great chance of getting themselves further away from the drop this weekend as they take on Burton Albion.

The men from St. Andrew's are looking in much better shape than they were a few weeks ago under Steve Cotterill and Garry Monk has to be praised for the early job he's done so far.

However, that will all count for nothing if the club doesn't stay up come the end of the campaign, and so the hard work has to continue until they are mathematically safe.

Working hard, though, is something that comes naturally under a Monk regime and he's given his latest insight on Twitter as to how the Blues are preparing for this big game with the Brewers:

Evidently, Monk is putting in the hours to get the club out of this situation as soon as possible and, if they beat Nigel Clough's side, they're going to be looking very strong indeed.

The Verdict

Monk has done a good job so far and it looks as though the Blues' players are responding.

It's a massive game for them this weekend against Burton because, whilst they can get another three points, they can plunge the Brewers further into the relegation mire.

Let's see what happens tomorrow.
