Birmingham City are back in action along with the rest of the Championship as they take Ipswich Town in their next vital clash.

The Blues went into the international break on the back of a 3-0 win over Hull City and the plan will surely be to keep that momentum up against the Tractor Boys.

Surely, too, they'll be looking to get at a side that has seen the news confirmed today that Mick McCarthy is to leave in the summer and it'll be interesting to see how the Suffolk side's players respond.

Regardless, though, Garry Monk and the Blues have a job to do and the manager has delivered this update on the injury status of some of his squad earlier today - via the club's official Twitter account:

Certainly, the Blues looked better last time out and with some good time just gone to work on things, it'll be interesting to see how they perform this time out.

The Verdict

Monk and the Blues look stronger and have an air of optimism around them at the moment.

That doesn't guarantee results, of course, but it should give them a better chance of getting them and so it remains to be seen whether or not the Blues can take advantage of that.
