Birmingham City were once again made to wait for their first win of the Championship season last night.

Rivals West Brom were the latest team to frustrate the Blues, who remain winless with five draws and two defeats from their opening seven Championship fixtures.

A Matty Phillips equaliser was enough for the Baggies to snatch a point after a Jota opener for the home side, while the game could have swung completely in Monk and the Blues' favour as Jota missed a penatly to make it two only moments after netting the opener.

And speaking to the Blues' official website following the game, manager Garry Monk bemoaned those fine margins costing his team the win.

Monk said they 'need those moments to start going for them', and highlighted the penalty, plus a guilt edge chance from Che Adams as prime examples of this.

However, the former Leeds and Swansea gaffer refused to criticise his team, once again praising his team for their performance, pointing out the Blues fans 'are right behind' the team as they search for that elusive first win of the campaign.

Birmingham fans, do you agree with Monk? Are things going in the right direction? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
