MLS side LA Galaxy are interested in signing Barnsley midfielder Conor Hourihane, according to The Sun.
The Tykes’ captain has scored 26 goals in 100 games for Paul Heckingbottom’s men, which has led the Yorkshire club to a comfortable 12th position in the Championship table, after 22 games.
News has now emerged however that the American side have been scouting the Irishman, and have sent positive reviews back to the States.
Galaxy, who have snapped up Robbie Keane and David Beckham in the past, are amongst the likes of Norwich City and Celtic vying for the midfielder’s signature, however at 25-years-old, a move to Los Angeles is bound to attract Hourihane.
What makes the situation complicated is the fact that Hourihane’s contract expires in the summer, and while he has been in talks over extending, interest from elsewhere could make negotiations difficult for the Tykes.
So…what do you think Barnsley fans? Is this too good a move to turn down? Can you see a move transpiring? How much of a key asset is Conor Hourihane to Barnsley? Leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
