MK Dons are interested in sealing a deal for Colchester United midfielder George Moncur, according to Sky Sports.
Moncur was the standout performer for Colchester even though they endured a miserable season, and with the club set to play League Two football next season, Moncur is set to be allowed to leave.
Moncur managed 12 goals during the season, a healthy return given the club’s form and lowly position, and he caught the eye with some excellent performances overall, where he also managed to lay on plenty of chances for team mates.
The midfielder began his career with West Ham United, but didn’t quite make the cut, and following a series of loan moves, has found himself with Colchester since 2014, following a similar loan spell.
He has been a consistent performer for them since making the move, and at only 22, will know he has time to develop his career further.
A move back to League One may well be ideal for him, and the MK Dons look to be the first club willing to make a concrete move for him.
