MK Dons manager Karl Robinson says a deal to keep on loan Brentford striker Will Grigg looks unlikely.
Grigg has been in brilliant form for the Dons this season having joined on loan from Brentford during the summer, and formed a great partnership with then on loan Arsenal striker Benik Afobe.
He’s found the net 19 times for Karl Robinson’s side this season, 17 in League One and two in the Capital One Cup, in an incredible 4-0 win over Manchester United.
The striker scored another brace on Tuesday night against Scunthorpe, leaving the fans at the Stadium MK chanting ‘Sign him up.’
Manager Karl Robinson has reportedly enquired in the 23-year-old’s availability this week, but believes Brentford will be keen on keeping him and that he’ll be priced out of a move.
Robinson told MK Web: “We’ll certainly ask the question but Brentford paid a lot of money for him and it was a big investment that they paid for him.
“I’m not too sure that we can compete with the investment Brentford made but that’s just the reality of where we are.
“We’ll try as hard as we possibly can to get Will Grigg to play for MK Dons next season but we are also realists as well and if the price is right we’ll do the deal but unfortunately it has to be right for us for that to happen.”
The striker has played a major role in firing MK Dons to third place, five points off of second place Preston.
Karl Robinson’s MK Dons side have accumulated 75 points thus far this season.
