Sky Bet League One side MK Dons are targetting out-of-favour Brentford striker Will Grigg, according to reports by Sky Sports.
The striker, who joined the Bees from Walsall for £325,000 after tribunal, scored only five goals in a mixed spell in his first year at Griffin Park, often playing out of position under Uwe Rosler and Mark Warburton, admitting he suffered a loss of confidence.
The Northern Irishman, who was called up to their senior squad a few times and disrupted his settling in period further, was mainly third choice behind Marcelo Trotta and Clayton Donaldson in Brentford’s promotion campaign.
But despite Donaldson’s departure to Birmingham, the Bees have brought in Moses Obujado from Leyton Orient and Andre Gray from Luton, whilst also being linked with Scott Hogan of Rochdale and Patrick Bamford on loan from Chelsea.
This has led to Grigg being deemed surplus to requirements at Griffin Park, and MK Dons have expressed an interest in the man who scored 20 goals in 46 appearances for Walsall the season before his move to West London.
At the time Grigg had reported interest from Aston Villa, Norwich and Derby County, after he won Walsall’s player of the season and players player of the season for 2012/13.
