Reliable journalist Alan Nixon has provided a transfer update for Barnsley fans on his personal Twitter account.
Alan Nixon has shared the latest news on Barnsley’s pursuit of two top targets: Oli McBurnie and Brad Potts.
There is good news for Barnsley in their attempts to sign Oli McBurnie.
Alan Nixon revealed that the deal was “going well” and that Swansea City were willing to let him go, although it is unclear whether this would be a loan move or a permanent move.
The 6ft 2in striker could be an ideal signing for Barnsley, who are still looking to replace last season’s loanee Adam Armstrong up front.
McBurnie has a prolific goal scoring record at youth level for the Swans but has not been given many first team opportunities.
As a result, the 21-year-old – who is a Scotland youth international – could be set to leave the club in search of regular playing time to aid his development.
Barnsley appear to be well positioned to complete this move.
However, the pursuit of Blackpool’s play-off final hero Brad Potts is not going quite as smoothly.
Brad Potts has been a recent target for Barnsley, according to Alan Nixon.
The Tykes had submitted a £500,000 bid for the Blackpool star and were waiting for an answer.
However, his latest update has revealed that Barnsley are struggling to get this deal over the line.
“Potts proving harder [than McBurnie].”
