Sheffield Wednesday have had their fair share of players that have come and gone at Hillsborough over the years.
The Owls aren’t exactly blessed with options in attack this season though, with Garry Monk having just Jack Marriott and Jordan Rhodes to choose from.
Sheffield Wednesday are currently sat bottom of the Championship table and nine points adrift of safety after their opening seven matches of this year’s campaign.

One former Owls forward that seems to be thriving since leaving the club is Lucas Joao, with the Portuguese striker hitting form with Reading.
Joao signed for the Royals in the summer of 2019, and struggled with injuries in his first season with the Berkshire-based club. But he’s certainly made up for lost time though, and has scored eight goals in his first eight appearances for Veljko Paunovic’s side, who are currently sat seven points clear at the top of the Championship.
Plenty of Sheffield Wednesday supporters took to social media to issue their thoughts on Joao’s impressive showings so far this season, and whether the Owls were right to sell him when they did last summer.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below….
Bah! We were never right to sell him…

At the time I think best for all concerned. But I’d love to have him in the side right now. Mind you, he would t be scoring so much under monk

Course we're missing him. He was completely miss-managed since he signed – it was blinding obvious he was a real talent that just needed games, confidence and better players around him. So many more players before Joao should have been sold – his quality just isnt there now

You just know Reading will sell him for £20m+ now. It’s the wednesday way

SWFC more often than not make players worse….cursed club! He's obviously enjoying it down at Reading. Good for him.

Fee payed over 4 years. Let him go too cheap in the grand scheme of things.Never replaced him. Typical Wednesday
— Rich Bram (@RBrams86) October 28, 2020
He'd become complacent at wednesday and needed a push. Frustrating as we knew the potential but it was the right move

He was the only one of any value that’s why it was him who was sold

Hes playing in a team that creates chances that's why

Needed a run of games IMO. Never got the chance to play in a runof more than 4/5 games
