‘Mind-blowing’, ‘Did he learn nothing?’ – Some Sunderland fans can’t believe what Phil Parkinson has done vs Doncaster Rovers

Sunderland are hoping to get back to winning ways as they take on Doncaster Rovers this afternoon.

A 2-1 defeat against MK Dons last weekend made it three defeats in a week for the Black Cats and saw them drop out of the top six as a result.

With that in mind Phil Parkinson is determined to get three points on the board at the Keepmoat Stadium and has made a number of changes as a result.

Parkinson has made three alterations for the clash with Doncaster.

Conor McLaughlin and Tom Flanagan both return to the starting XI after missing last weekend’s defeat at the Stadium Of Light.

They replace Jordan Willis and Max Power with the latter dropping to the bench.

Chris Maguire also returns to the team and replaces Will Grigg who drops out.

But while these alterations are big news, it’s the decision to name Remi Matthews in goal that has captured the attention of supporters.

The former Bolton Wanderers man keeps his place ahead of Lee Burge, leaving some fans less than impressed.

Here’s what a group of them had to say on Twitter.

20 quiz questions about Sunderland’s current squad that Black Cats fans should be getting correct
