Scoring goals has been an issue for Millwall this season.

Gary Rowett's side are on track for a mid-table finish, which is by no means a poor campaign but given they finished just two points off the play-offs last term it's a little step backward.

No team in the top half has scored fewer goals than 10th-place Millwall and it's no coincidence that they've also drawn more games than any other club in the Championship.

Their summer signings haven't had the desired effect so far, with Troy Parrott now playing elsewhere, and while they do have some impressive young players coming through at the moment – they're yet to give any a chance up top.

Young goalscorers are our focus today and we've scoured Transfermarkt's records to find Millwall's 10 youngest ever goalscorers.

Take a look at our list and let us know if you knew any of these and whether there were any surprises in there...

Having come through the Arsenal academy, Simpson was sent on loan to Millwall for the 2007/08 League One campaign.

The teenager was a regular fixture in the Lions side that season and scored eight goals in his 45 appearances for his loan club.

The first of those came in the EFL Trophy at the age of just 18 years, 9 months, and 4 days old.

Millwall took on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium and were beaten 3-2 by Roberto Martinez's side.

Their Arsenal loanee grabbed his first goal early in the second half, however, which was the first of his professional career.

The most recent goal on this list, Fred Onyedinma scored his first at the age of just 18 years, 8 months, and 25 days.

The Millwall academy graduate started on the right-hand side of midfield and was the star man, scoring twice in a losing effort.

Onyedinma's first was the opener in the 26th minute, while his second was an equaliser with just eight minutes remaining.

Unfortunately for the teenager, Lewin Nyatanga headed a winner in for Barnsley in the 90th minute.

He scored 12 goals in 151 appearances in total for his boyhood club before joining Wycombe Wanderers permanently.

It's not every day that a teenager gets a chance from the penalty spot but that's how Danny Haynes scored his first goal for Millwall.

The striker joined on loan from Ipswich Town for a month in the 2006/07 season.

He scored his first goal in a League One game against Rotherham United at the age of just 18 years, 8 months, and 11 days, and would prove the match-winner.

Millwall came back from 2-0 to win 3-2 with Haynes scoring a brace, the first of which was a penalty in the 6th minute of first-half stoppage time – that shows confidence.

The homegrown Millwall striker only featured 12 times for his boyhood club and found the net just the once.

That goal came at the tender age of 18 years and 7 months old, however, which earns him a place on this list.

It came in a 4-2 defeat to Wolves and a game that Philpot will surely never forget.

The teenage striker was introduced with the score 3-1 in the 80th minute and made an instant impact, scoring a goal within two minutes to cut the deficit in half.

Sadly for the Lions, that wasn't enough to kick-start a comeback.

John Marquis may not be hugely popular among Millwall fans but he opened his account for the club early on, that is for sure.

The striker has gone on to score plenty of EFL goals but the first came in November 2009 in a 1-1 Championship draw with Norwich City.

The Millwall academy graduate was just 18 years, 5 months, and 24 days old when he started the game against the Canaries at The Den and proved their hero.

David Fox put the visitors ahead after 75 minutes and Marquis grabbed an equaliser in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

The England captain and Tottenham Hotspur's third-highest all-time goalscorer learnt his trade in a loan spell at Millwall in 2011/12.

Harry Kane scored seven goals in 27 appearances for the Lions that season, the first of which came when he was just 18 years, 5 months, and 20 days old.

Kane started the FA Cup game against Dagenham & Redbridge in January 2012, scoring twice in a 5-0 win at The Den.

The striker's first came in the 41st minute before he added a second just after the hour mark but he was overshadowed slightly by strike partner Darius Henderson, who scored a hat-trick.

Ben May arrived at Millwall after spells at Fulham and Southampton but it was in south London that he cut his teeth at senior level.

The forward went on to make 88 appearances for the club, scoring 16 times, before his permanent exit in January 2008.

May's first goal came at the age of 18 years, 5 months, and 14 days in a First Division game in August 2002.

Millwall hosted Ipswich Town with the teenager starting the game in the forward line and grabbing the opener in just the fourth minute – a dream start for him.

Darren Bent pulled one back in the second half, with the game finishing 1-1.

Things didn't really work out for Marvin Williams at Millwall but after coming through the academy, he still made 53 appearances for the south London club.

The striker scored seven times in total before he departed the Den, the first of which came in the 2005/06 Championship campaign at the age of 18 years, 4 months, and 21 days.

On January 2nd, Millwall hosted Derby County and came back from a goal down to win 2-1.

Seth Johnson had put the Rams ahead on the hour mark but Marvin Elliott scored the Lions' equaliser while Williams, who had only come on 19 minutes before, grabbed the winner in the 78th minute.

Certainly, a goal to remember for a number of reasons.

The midfielder hung up his boots nearly four years ago but being among Millwall's youngest scorers is a memento from the early part of Peter Sweeney's career.

The Scotsman was born in Glasgow but came through the youth system of the south London club and emerged in the senior side in the early 2000s.

Sweeney bagged his first goal for Millwall at the age of just 18 years, 3 months, and 17 days old in the 2002/03 First Division campaign.

He found the net for the first time in the Lions' 4-0 victory over Watford, coming off the bench in the 80th minute and scoring the fourth goal in the 89th minute.

Tony Craig was certainly not known for his exploits in front of the opposition goal but he tops the list of Millwall's youngest goalscorers.

The central defender was a fantastic servant for the south London club, making more than 300 appearances across multiple spells for the Lions.

He found the net seven times in total with his first coming back in May 2003 in the old First Division.

At the age of just 18 years and 14 days, Craig scored for Millwall in the 2-0 victory over Coventry City at the Den – netting the opener after 51 minutes.

Tim Cahill scored the hosts' second three minutes later as Mark McGhee's men earned all three points.
