Millwall manager Gary Rowett has revealed that Mason Bennett and Ryan Leonard could be available for the clash with West Bromwich Albion on the weekend.

The Lions have been impressive around the turn of the year and have forced themselves into the play-off picture.

The London club sit ninth as things stand–five points adrift of the top six and 11 points shy of their opponents on Sunday, who are currently top of the Championship.

Rowett will want as many options available to him as possible when he welcomes the league leaders to the Den on the weekend and, speaking to London News Online, he revealed that Bennett and Leonard may be back.

He said: "Lenny has been out for around four months and Mason more than two months so we need to make sure we get enough training time in their legs not to put them at risk.

“Mason has had rotten luck with injuries and in his first week here someone stood on his hand and we thought he’d broken it–he’s okay though.”

It is understood that midfielder Ben Thompson's ankle injury is likely to keep him out until at least March.

Millwall signed Bennett on loan from Derby County late in the transfer window but he has yet to feature for the club.

Leonard has been missing since the start of October after suffering a knee injury against Leeds United.

The Verdict

The arrival of West Brom looks like it is going to be a tough test for Millwall, so it's certainly a boost that there is a chance both Bennett and Leonard may be able to feature.

The Baggies got back to winning ways and reclaimed their spot at the top of the Championship against Luton last weekend.

Slaven Bilic's men will undoubtedly be looking to make it two in two and they have proved to be a frightening proposition this season.

Rowett's side's form around the turn of the year has helped them climb up toward the top six and it would send a real message to the sides around them if they're able to beat West Brom on Sunday.
