Rotherham United's relegation to League One was confirmed on Saturday evening as they were beaten 2-1 by promotion-chasing West Brom at The Hawthorns.

The visitors took a shock lead on the day through Clark Robertson's header, but goals from Jay Rodriguez and Rekeem Harper saw the Baggies run out winners.

It meant that Millwall retained their status as a Championship club for another season, much to the relief of one of their players.

Millwall's Aiden O'Brien took to Twitter following Rotherham's defeat to praise Rodriguez and Harper for their goals which ultimately sent the Millers down to League One.

O'Brien's latest social media post is certainly going to go down well with Millwall supporters, who will be keen to put this season behind them at the earliest of opportunities.

With their status as a Championship club confirmed for another year, Millwall can head into their final game of the season against Wigan Athletic with the pressure off of them.

They'll be hoping to finish with a win though, as they have one eye on next year's league campaign.

The Verdict:

They've done it the hard way.

I didn't think that Millwall would be in trouble this year, but their poor run of recent form has seen them slide down the table at an alarming rate.

Survival will be a huge relief and they need to focus on not having to fight to survive next season.
