It is now less than a fortnight until the start of the Championship season, with Millwall set to begin their campaign with a trip across London to face QPR.
Before then, Gary Rowett may just want to make one or two final tweaks to his squad via the transfer market.
With that in mind, here’s all the latest Millwall transfer news…
Millwall’s transfer stance on defender could change
One player that the Lions were planning to send out on loan ahead of the 2021/22 campaign is 19-year-old defender Alex Mitchell but, speaking to the club website, Rowett has revealed the club’s stance on the teenager could yet change.

“Young Alex Mitchell, he’s living the dream at the moment,” said the Millwall boss.
“He’s had a really quick rise to first-team involvement.
“He comes in every day, he’s got a massive smile on his face, he just wants to go and play, he wants to test himself.
“And although the plan really for Alex Mitchell was to go out on loan again, at this moment in time I think he’s benefiting so much from being around the first team that he’s given me a little bit of food for thought as to whether I keep him with us for longer.”
Have any of these 25 players ever scored against the Lions?
No official approach from Portsmouth over Ben Thompson
Portsmouth have regularly been linked with Ben Thompson since his loan spell with the South Coast club a few years ago and this summer has been no different.
A recent report from the Portsmouth News suggested that the midfielder’s salary was proving an obstacle to a potential deal but the Lions boss has rejected suggestions that an official approach has been made.
However, in an interview with the South London Press, Rowett dismissed it as “just speculation”.
No deal close for Millwall target
Barnsley have joined Millwall, Birmingham City, and Luton Town in the race for Burnley midfielder Josh Benson but no deal is yet close, according to the Barnsley Chronicle.
The Athletic reported earlier this month that the south London club were among the sides keen on Benson and it seems he is still available.
