Millwall are set for another busy summer as the transfer window really begins to kick into gear in South London.

Gary Rowett and co are looking at ways in which they can improve their current squad as the Lions bid to make up ground on the Sky Bet Championship play-off places after falling short towards the end of the previous campaign.

The Lions have already brought in the likes of Scott Malone and George Long from Derby County and Hull City respectively and will be looking to conclude further deals over the coming weeks.

Meanwhile Rowett has also seen numerous bids knocked back for Sheffield Wednesday's Josh Windass, who the Lions are said to be very keen on.

Here, we round up all of the latest transfer rumours that have been swirling around the New Den over the past few days.

Striker targeted

Millwall are said to be keen on taking Manchester City striker Liam Delap on loan for the forthcoming season, as per a recent report by the Express.

The teenage striker made his debut for the City first team last season and has since gone on to score one goal in three appearances.

Unlikely to get much in the way of regular game time under Pep Guardiola next term, it is said that the Premier League champions are keen for the 18-year-old to get out on loan in order to gain some vital experience.

It is unclear as to whether a move for Delap could put Millwall's pursuit of Windass on the back burner at this stage.

Portsmouth eye midfielder

Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley has admitted to The News that the South Coast club have an interest in signing midfielder Ben Thompson from the Lions this summer.

The 25-year-old previously spent time on loan at Fratton Park during the 2018/19 season and it appears that Cowley would be keen on bringing the player back to his old stomping ground this summer.

Speaking recently, the Pompey boss had this to say:

"We know Ben – Ben’s a really good player. He’s a player with huge energy, an infectious enthusiasm and a really good timer and arriver.

"Ben’s someone we know well, but we’re respectful that he’s a Millwall player.

"We know he’s someone who’s a Championship player on Championship wages with a Championship contract."

Thompson currently has one year remaining on his contract at the New Den and could well be allowed to move on this summer.

Jed Wallace latest

The Lions are also yet to have reached an agreement with Jed Wallace over a new contract, with Rowett providing an update on the situation to News at Den.

Now aged 27, the former Portsmouth man is set to enter the final year of his contract in South London and is said to be very keen on extending his stay with Millwall.

However Rowett was quick to state the following as the uncertainty surrounding Wallace remains:

"We couldn’t quite come to an agreement. Jed was offered an improved contract and we will continue to talk.

"It’s a hard one, because you can’t always find a perfect solution and you can’t always control every situation. Jed is really committed; he doesn’t want to leave the club and regardless of that situation he will do everything he can to get us to where we want to be. Hopefully, we find an agreement, but you can’t always predict how these scenarios are going to go.

"I’m not thinking about it to be honest. It’s quite difficult for me to give me an answer. He has been offered a good deal, but he knows that if he waits, he might get a much, much better deal from somewhere else, and he might only get that opportunity once."

The attacker has been with the Lions since the summer of 2017 after signing from Wolves and has racked up 36 goals and 38 assists over the course of over 200 games at the New Den, thus becoming the club's talisman in the process.
