Millwall have submitted a seven-figure bid for Hibernian defender Ryan Porteous, according to the Scottish Sun.

Porteous - who came through the ranks at Easter Road - has been a key player for Hibernian under Jack Ross this season.

The 21-year-old has made 28 appearances across all competitions this season, helping Hibs climb to fourth in the Scottish Premiership table.

Wallace? Bradshaw? – Can you name which Millwall player scored each these 15 goals this season?

The centre-half is now attracting interest from England, though, with Millwall tabling an offer for the defender.

According to the Scottish Sun, Millwall have made an offer in the excess of £1million for Porteous, with the club yet to respond to the bid.

It has been a fine season for Porteous, who was called up to Steve Clarke's Scotland squad earlier this season.

The defender is yet to make his international debut, but there can be no denying his potential and quality on the ball.

The Verdict

Porteous looks to be a real talent, and at the age of 21, he could be an even better player in the future.

We have seen Scott McKenna make an excellent impact since arriving at Nottingham Forest from Aberdeen in the summer, and there is no reason to suggest why Porteous can't do the same for Millwall.

Millwall currently lack depth at the back, with Ryan Leonard having to slot into the back three against Watford last time out.

Porteous is a young, up and coming defender with a point to prove and I think it would be a coup to lure him to the Den.
