Millwall were somewhat of a surprise package this season. Finishing just three points shy of the play-off places, the Lions will be hoping to continue their good run of form into next season.

Jed Wallace made 47 appearances in all competitions and impressed throughout this season, finding the back of the net seven times and contributing nine assists along the way. The young attacker is slowly becoming the most all-round player The Den has seen in years.

If the youngster is able to guide his current side to England’s top flight next season, he will become a member of a very small group of players to have made appearances across the Conference, League Two, League One, Championship and the Premier League.

The 24-year-old signed a permanent deal at Millwall in June last summer after two spells on loan at The Den keeping him at the club until at least 2020, and in his sides first season back at Championship level they were tipped as favourites to fall back down to League One.

But, Neil Harris’ side had unprecedented success throughout the season, winning 19 games and losing just 12 times. It wasn’t enough to see them snatch the final play-off spot, but it will give them hope going into next season.

Jed Wallace will certainly have drawn the eyes of those in higher places after this campaign, but whether they will take the punt on the youngster is still to be seen.

With long range passing abilities, the capability to score from a distance, and the aptitude to break up play when needed, Wallace will certainly be a sort after player in years to come, if he can continue the form he managed to find this year.

Wallace was called up to the England Under-19 squad on a number of occasions in 2013, before making his debut for the team in May that year in a 3-0 victory against Scotland Under-19’s. He hasn’t made any appearances at international level since.

Whether the young forward plays in the Premier League in a Millwall shirt or for another club, Wallace has what it takes to make it at the very highest level, and having played at all levels of English football, he will not only set the Premier League alight, but will finish off a perfect fairytale story.
