Championship side Millwall have rejected two sponsorship offers over the naming rights to The Den, according to millwall.vitalfootball.co.uk, a Millwall fan site.
The Championship side have rejected two six-figure offers from separate companies to own the naming rights of their 20,000 capacity stadium, The Den.
Millwall have been on the hunt for a company to sponsor the stadium to generate more income for the club but have insisted that they have no intentions of ‘selling the soul’ of the club’s illustrious history.
Both companies involved are unknown as of yet but both companies wanted too big of a name change for the club’s board to accept and therefore both deals have been shunned.
Millwall commercial director Alan Williams said, ‘We had two options but we turned them both down because they didn’t fit with what we wanted to do.
“For me, its fundamentally important that we keep ‘The Den’ in our name – and they didn’t want that. The offers we had were from brands that didn’t really work for us.
