Millwall and Neil Harris had a season to remember as they were promoted from League One via the play-offs.

After overcoming Scunthorpe in the semi-finals, the 'Lions' beat Bradford City 1-0 in the final at Wembley to claim their place in the Championship next season.

It was the second time Harris had lead Millwall to the play-off finals, as he led them there in his first full season in charge as manager where they faced Barnsley, but ended up losing 3-1.

Harris has already been looking ahead to next season, in terms of getting in players that will bolster his squad and allow them to compete in the Championship division after they confirmed the signing of Bradford full-back James Meredith the other day, but they have released goalkeeper David Forde and defender Joe Martin.

With the transfer window in mind, one area where the 'Lions' could strengthen is up front.

Despite last season Lee Gregory and Steve Morison proving a lethal partnership, scoring 32 goals between them and providing 14 assists for their team mates they are going to need some support next season.

One player that Millwall should look to sign is Southend United striker Simon Cox.

The 30-year-old has had plenty of Football League experience and has played in the Premier League in the past with West Bromwich Albion.

He has scored over 80 goals in his career, and this season he had another terrific return where he found the back of the net on 16 occasions and provided 8 assists for his teammates, showing that he can create chances as well as score them.

Adding Cox to the ranks would be a terrific move for Harris and the club, as he could certainly strike a partnership with Lee Gregory or Steve Morison to help Millwall push up the Championship table next season.
