Millwall goalkeeper Frank Fielding has been ruled out of tomorrow's FA Cup fourth round tie with Sheffield United after suffering a further injury setback in training this week, according to London News Online.

The 31-year-old stopper has not featured for the Lions since their opening game of the season against Preston North End, where he sustained a quad injury.

Fielding has only recently resumed first-team training, with Rowett commenting that his return was imminent two weeks ago. The plan was for Fielding to make his return in this Saturday's cup tie.

However, this latest setback now leaves Gary Rowett with a dilemma in the goalkeeper department.

Luke Steele has returned to Nottingham Forest after his short-term loan deal came to an end, leaving the club with no recognised back-up goalkeeper after Fielding's latest setback.

London News Online also reported that Fielding will see a specialist about the problem to give an appropriate timescale to how long he will be out for as a result of the issue.

Fielding joined the club in the summer on a free transfer after his release by Bristol City last term.

The Verdict

This latest development will be a bitter pill to swallow for Gary Rowett, as he will now be forced to enter the market for another goalkeeper on loan to add sufficient cover for Bartosz Bialkowski.

The Lions boss will be hoping that Bialkowski does not suffer an injury in the meantime.

The club could tempt Luke Steele back on another loan, but it remains to be seen if such a deal will be able to be agreed before the end of the transfer window.
