Millwall man gives his view on teammate linked with exit

Millwall midfielder Shaun Williams has said that Jed Wallace has been ‘fantastic’ this season for the Lions.

33-year-old Williams spoke to News at Den about his midfield teammate, who has lit up the Championship this season with his performances for the South London side.

Wallace has scored seven goals and also contributed with four assists in 17 appearances this term, and Williams has claimed that the 25-year-old has also been producing magic moments at their training base in Bromley.

“He’s been fantastic, to be fair,” Williams said to News at Den. “Even in training he looks like a different player, he’s scoring all sorts of goals and he’s our main man.”

With it being reported in the printed Express earlier this week that Wallace has been linked with a move to Premier League side Aston Villa in January, Williams was quick to offer a humoured response about the rumours.

“I don’t want to say too much about him in case other teams come sniffing about him, but it’s nice he’s done well.”

The report also stated that Millwall are holding out for a bid of £10 million or more if Aston Villa are serious about their interest in Wallace. Dean Smith reportedly decided to send scouts to monitor the right midfielder’s performance in the Lions’ recent away win against Swansea City.

The Verdict

Jed Wallace deserves all the praise he is getting from his manager and his teammates, as his recent form has been exceptional for Millwall and key to the side’s recent progress in the league.

It is also worth noting that Shaun Williams is aware of the interest linking Wallace with a move away, which Millwall fans will have to keep an eye on as the last thing they want is for Jed Wallace to have his head turned between now and January.
