The Millwall board have compiled a shortlist of names that they are looking to target as they look to appoint Neil Harris' successor, who left almost two weeks ago following a 1-1 draw away at Luton Town.

The board at The Den are thought to have put together a list of three targets - as per London News Online - that they are willing to target, with various degrees of managerial experience and coaching styles on the list for the Lions.

Current caretaker manager Adam Barrett is rightfully thought to be top of the list, having taken charge of Millwall's previous Championship game which resulted in a 2-1 win over promotion hopefuls Leeds United.

Current Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth has also been linked to the post having taken Wycombe up to their highest ever league position after a memorable seven years in charge so far, and former Birmingham City and Stoke City boss Gary Rowett is thought to make up the shortlist of three names.

The Verdict:

The three names that Millwall appear to have come up with are all deserving of being on the shortlist in their own right.

Barrett has stepped up into the void that's been left by Harris' departure, while Rowett has previous managerial experience at various clubs within the Championship and Ainsworth has created something special at Wycombe while in League One and League Two, and deserves the chance to take an opportunity a level up.
