Championship playoff chasers Millwall have lodged an official bid for Wolves winger Ben Marshall, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The Lions have been linked with a move for the former Stoke man all summer after he impressed on loan with the club last season, and now it appears a bid has been made to bring Marshall to London on a permanent deal, with a fee of £1.25m the amount being mentioned.

Marshall, who has had decent spells with Sheffield Wednesday as well as the Lions, made 22 appearances for Neil Harris' men last term as they came within touching distance of making the top six in the Championship.

Millwall will be desperate to add Marshall to their ranks full time after being impressed with his displays next term and will hope he can add to the three goals and six assists he bagged in the closing stages of the last campaign.

Spirits will no doubt be high in the Millwall camp over the summer, and the signing of Marshall will only do more to encourage those feelings.

Marshall is expected to be allowed to leave current club Wolves in the summer after they romped to promotion last season and are widely expected to add a host of new signings over the summer.
