Millwall have sought to open talks over a move with Ben Marshall from Wolves this summer - according to News At Den.

The versatile 27-year-old moved to the Bermondsey club on loan from the eventual Championship champions midway through last season.

Indeed, he did well as the Lions came close to getting themselves into the play-offs and but for a late dip in form they might have just crept in.

The plan, then, has to be for Neil Harris and his men to build on that this summer and then go again in 2018/19 and it looks as though the manager is looking to keep the squad that did so well together.

With Wolves getting promoted, it's probably even less likely that the midfielder is going to play for them next season and so, though things are at an early stage, you can certainly see this one happening.

The Verdict

Marshall would be a good signing for Millwall for sure.

He's a hard-working, useful player that can play in a number of positions and so it is easy to see why Harris likes him.

If the Lions and Wolves can reach an agreement over a fee this will prove a good deal.
