After winning promotion to the Championship with a narrow victory over Bradford City in the League One play-off final, Millwall were hoping that some of their best out-of-contract stars would commit their future to the club.
However, they have been hit with a major double blow.
According to News at Den, Millwall are set to lose Jimmy Abdou and Shaun Cummings this summer.
Both players were out of contract at The Den and were offered fresh terms by Millwall.
However, they are both set to depart the club.
Shaun Cummings was a vital cog in Millwall’s promotion plans, playing 23 games despite having an injury-hit season, and scoring some important goals.
The 28-year-old has rejected Millwall’s new contract offer and will seek a move elsewhere this summer.
Jimmy Abdou was also a regular for Millwall.
The 32-year-old played 22 times for the Lions but Southend midfielder Ryan Leonard is being lined up as a possible replacement for the veteran central midfielder.
Abdou has played well over 300 games for Millwall but will not remain at the club next season.
There is no word yet on whether Fred Onyedinma will remain at Millwall or move, having previously been linked with Queens Park Rangers.
Neil Harris has confirmed that he is looking at alternative options to replace Jimmy Abdou and Shaun Cummings.
