Millwall boss Neil Harris has been dealt a major blow with one of his striker's being ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Tom Bradshaw has made ten appearances so far for Harris' side this season, but has made just two starts for the relegation threatened Lions.

The 26-year-old picked up the injury during Millwall's defeat to Brentford last weekend, and it leaves Neil Harris short in his striking options ahead of a hectic festive period.

The Millwall boss revealed the extent of the Welshman's injury woes.

'Tom Bradshaw has done his knee ligaments and is going to be out for the season,' he said.

Harris was left disappointed by the news of Bradshaw's injury and is hoping to have him back training with the club as quickly as possible.

'That’s put perspective into that– yes, disappointed of course – but Tom is a big loss for us. We will work tirelessly with him to get him back on the training pitch, hopefully pre-season, and we look forward to him being a big part of the club in the future.'

Surprisingly, Bradshaw was able to play on after suffering the injury in the Brentford game, but scans also revealed the seriousness of the injury suffered by the striker.

'It happened at Brentford in the game. It’s one of these crazy modern-day injuries. He did it a couple of minutes after coming on, did the debrief in the changing room and then did the fitness exercises afterwards.'

'We didn’t know till Sunday night and then the scan on Monday showed he had a ligament tear', Harris revealed.

The Verdict

The news of Bradshaw's injury will come as a huge blow to Neil Harris' chances of retaining their place in the Championship this season.

Although Bradshaw hasn't featured as much as he would have liked, he has shown glimpses of his quality, which Neil Harris would have looked to have utilised in the busy festive period.

Millwall face a tough ask if they are to stay up, and Harris could be tempted to add some depth to his squad in January to help aid their fight against relegation.
