Millwall are set to be without an influential figure for their weekend clash with Barnsley as Scott Malone has been ruled out with an injury.
The 30-year-old had a successful loan spell with the Lions last season when still at Derby County, playing 41 times under Gary Rowett and scoring five times from a left-wing-back position in the Championship.
Rowett was able to tie down Malone to a permanent deal and he’s taken back his position in the starting 11 again with no real strong competition, playing all 10 league matches so far this season.

However Millwall will have to do without him this weekend when the Lions head to Oakwell as an injury suffered against Bristol City last night is set to rule Malone out for a little while.
Malone was withdrawn in the final few minutes of the contest against the Robins and it was a quadricep injury that he suffered, with Rowett telling News at Den that ‘it looks like he’s going to be out for a little bit’, including the Barnsley game.
Malone is set to be a massive miss for the Lions as he’s barely missed many games in the Championship over the last year.
After falling out of favour at Derby, Malone seemingly landed on his feet at The Den and with the full faith of Gary Rowett, he’s got back to form but this season he’s yet to get off the mark.
He provides a cutting edge from out wide as the wing-backs in Millwall’s team are the only real source of creativity down the flanks, with Jed Wallace playing more centrally nowdays.
Rowett will be hoping that Malone is back after the international break as he will have a few weeks to rest and recuperate ahead of another batch of fixtures that begin on October 16.
