Millwall duo Kenneth Zohore and Maikel Kieftenbeld both trained on Monday for the Lions as thy edge closer to their returns from injury, with News at Den reporting that both could be involved now that the international break is over.

Zohore has been sidelined since the club's 2-1 win over Reading in mid-February as his nightmarish spell in South London continues.

Whilst Kieftenbeld was also forced onto the treatment table last month as he was taken off at half time in the 4-1 thrashing of Sheffield Wednesday.

It now appears that both players are being fast tracked towards a return to action by Gary Rowett, with a game in April likely to be earmarked as the season winds down towards its conclusion.

The report also went on to state that Connor Mahoney and Ryan Leonard could both be back in action later on in April as both players continue their rehabilitation.

The Verdict

This is a boost that will come at a good time for the Lions as they look to finish the campaign on a high under Rowett, with the play-offs now arguably out of reach for the London club.

Zohore still has a lot to prove in a navy blue shirt and will be looking to get back on the goal trail after only scoring three since arriving from West Bromwich Albion on loan.

Meanwhile Kieftenbeld is still something of an unknown quantity since swapping Birmingham for Millwall and will be looking to build up his reputation for his new club between now and the end of the campaign.

These options will be welcome for Rowett, however there will be a feeling of what might have been as they seem set to miss out on the play-offs once again.
