Jordan Archer has been rewarded for a fine month with Millwall by being given the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award, the Football League has confirmed.
Neil Harris’ side have been magnificent since the turn of the year and February saw them win three of their five league games.
Archer, a former Tottenham youngster, was an important cog for the Lions’ good form this season as he kept three clean sheets in those five games, and conceded just three.
The 22-year-old caught national headlines after magnificently heading over a goal-bound back pass from defender Mark Beevers and that move showed how confident the former Scotland under-21 international is at the moment.
Archer said, “It’s very pleasing to have my own form recognised in this way but the award is really for my team-mates, the manager and the rest of the coaching staff for their great work in the past few weeks.
“We’ve been in brilliant form and as a goalkeeper, it is always your main objective to keep clean sheets, but ultimately that is down to the players in front of you to play well as a unit, which we have been doing.”
“I just want to thank everyone at the club for helping to give me the platform to go out there and perform on a matchday, especially my goalkeeping coach, Kevin Pressmen, whose guidance has been crucial in my career so far.”
Millwall find themselves fifth in League One, three points ahead of seventh-placed Bradford City as they travel to another in form side on Saturday, Swindon Town.
