Gary Rowett had finally been handed some positive news on the injury front – with Connor Mahoney and Mason Bennett not facing as long on the sidelines as first expected.
Millwall extended their Championship winless run to four matches by drawing with Cardiff City on Saturday, although Kieffer Moore’s late equaliser wasn’t the only frustration the Lions boss suffered.
Not only did he see both Mahlon Romeo and Mahoney miss out with foot and quad injuries respectively, Rowett then saw the winger Bennett hobble off with a similar problem to Mahoney’s.
South London Press revealed on Sunday that the two attacker’s were set to undergo scans on Monday, which left the Millwall manager concerned over the timescale of the duo, whilst the damage caused to Romeo’s foot remains unclear.

But the South London Press have now confirmed that Bennett is only expected to face around two weeks on the sidelines, whilst Mahoney could be ruled out weeks rather than months.
Whilst the attacking pair will obviously miss the rest of November, and then most likely the beginning of December, it sounds as if they could return to action for the crucial festive period.
In there short term, Rowett is going to need the likes of Jiri Skalak, Shane Ferguson and Troy Parrott to step up in their absence, whilst star man Jed Wallace isn’t going to have to raise his level of performances following a recent blip by his usual high standards.
