Millwall have completed the signing of Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski on a season-long loan.

The 32-year-old has been an important player for Ipswich over the past few seasons and made 30 appearances for the Tractor Boys last term.

The Poland international is the second goalkeeper to join Millwall this summer, after Frank Fielding joined on a free transfer last month after he was released by Bristol City.

Bialkowski failed to keep a clean sheet in 30 appearances last season, as Ipswich finished bottom of the Championship, but has been an important player for the Tractor Boys over the past few seasons.

Millwall finished 21st in the Championship table last season, four points above the relegation zone and manager Neil Harris has already made several new signings this summer, as he looks to build a team that will challenge further up the table this season.

Bialkowski could make his debut for Millwall against Preston North End at The Den this weekend on the opening day of the new season.

The Verdict

Millwall needed another goalkeeper after David Martin left to join West Ham and Bialkowski could be a good signing for the Lions.

Even though he didn't have a great season for Ipswich last term, the same thing can be said about many of the their players. He is still a very good goalkeeper and has got plenty of experience in the Championship.

He could turn out to be a very smart signing for Millwall on loan and it will be interesting to see who Harris chooses as his first-choice goalkeeper for the new season.
