An iconic era recently came to an end in London as Neil Harris decided to leave his role as Millwall manager after just over four years at the helm of the club.

The ex-Lions man oversaw the club's most successful period of the past 10 years, winning them promotion from League One and almost entering the Championship play-offs as well, not to mention the countless memorable cup clashes.

But, he clearly felt he had taken the club as far as he could after narrowly avoiding the drop last season and starting the current one slowly.

Life without him got off to a pretty good start, however, with Leeds United beaten 2-1 at the Den, although it seems that a permanent replacement will be sought out as quickly as possible.

However, in the hunt for new managers, Millwall are now joined by Barnsley after Daniel Stendel left Oakwell on Tuesday morning.

And, according to Football Insider, both clubs are now chasing the same man: Motherwell's Stephen Robinson.

Robinson has worked wonders at Fir Park this season, guiding the club into the battle at the top of the table, currently sat in third place in the Scottish Premiership.

But how should the Millwall fans be feeling about this?

Well, this really comes down to which club is the more attractive prospect at this current time. Before this season, it would have been hard to argue against Barnsley.

The Tykes were on the rise and looked set to keep on heading up, rather than looking down as they usually do.

But with Stendel choosing to leave Barnsley because of a dispute with the board over transfers, that should tip the balance firmly in favour of Millwall.

Now more than ever, manager's want a club where they are going to be backed. Harris left the Lions of his own volition whilst Stendel felt he was not given enough trust.

So Millwall fans should be very confident. If it comes to a head on battle for the services of Robinson, they will almost certainly come out on top.
