Millwall will be disappointed to have let their one goal lead slip against Birmingham as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at St. Andrew's last Saturday.

The Lions took the lead through Shaun Williams in the 61st minute, seeing his 20-yard effort sail past Connal Trueman in the Birmingham goal and into the top corner.

Gary Rowett's side were then pegged back less than twenty minutes later, as Birmingham's on-loan defender Jake Clarke-Salter rose highest at the near post to send a powerful header past Bartosz Bialkowski from a Daniel Crowley corner.

The point leaves Millwall in 13th place in the Championship, taking their unbeaten league run to four games.

Lions fans would've been satisfied not to have fallen to a defeat, but they may not be overly happy about the transfer rumours that currently surround their star player at present - Jed Wallace.

The 25-year-old notched up yet another assist, on this occasion for Shaun Williams' opening goal. That takes Wallace's tally to four for the season.

He has contributed directly to a Millwall goal in this last six league games, and his excellent recent form has caught the eye of Premier League side Aston Villa, according to The Daily Express.

They have reported that Villa boss Dean Smith has been keeping a close eye on Wallace, and that will make Millwall fans anxious leading up to the January transfer window.

It has been stated that Millwall are holding out for a minimum of £10 million for the right-sided midfielder, who they signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017.

That would be the largest sum received for a Millwall player since the club sold George Saville to Middlesbrough for a fee of £8 million in 2018.

What will worry the Millwall fans the most is that the club may not have the financial power to sign a like-for-like replacement for Wallace if he were to swap The Den for Villa Park, which could impact their second half of their season dramatically.

The True or False Millwall quiz: Can you get 15/15?

That is because impact of losing the 25-year-old would be monumental, as Wallace has had a hand in just under half of Millwall's 23 league goals this season.

Therefore, the Lions fans will be hoping that these reports are merely rumours and that their star man stays put at The Den until the end of season at least.
