Millwall welcome Stoke City to The Den for their first game of the Championship season on Saturday afternoon.

Gary Rowett and Benik Afobe both have previous ties with the Potters and will be hoping to get one over their old employers to kick-off the campaign.

The Lions kept their play-off pursuit alive until the final day last season, and replicating that feat would be a huge achievement in their first campaign after the departure of Jed Wallace.

Stoke have been treading water a little under Michael O'Neill in recent seasons and the former Northern Ireland boss' contract at the bet365 Stadium only runs until the end of the season.

FLW's Millwall fan pundit Tom Luetchford gave a very positive score prediction with some redemption potentially set to take place for a Lions striker.

Speaking to Football League World, Luetchford said"Really looking forward to it myself, I think we will win 1-0, Benik Afobe will get the goal I feel.

"I don't think you can read too much into pre-season, where I think he scored four goals, and how we performed overall.

"At a packed Den it's usually a different proposition, for that reason I think we'll win.

"At home it has been a bit of a fortress over the last few years, not so much since Rowett's come in, but last year we did very well there again.

"For that reason, I think we'll win 1-0, home advantage, first game of the season, 1-0 Millwall."
