Millwall are interested in a deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Jamie Ward, according to Paul Taylor of The Nottingham Post on Twitter.
The 31-year-old has found himself on the periphery of the squad at the City Ground this term, and has made just seven substitute appearances in the league.
The Northern Ireland international could now seek a move away from the East Midlands in search of regular first-team action, with Taylor reporting that Millwall boss Neil Harris could be open to offering the player an escape.
The player joined the Reds from local rivals Derby in 2015, but spent last year on loan with Burton Albion, scoring four goals in eighteen appearances at the Pirelli Stadium.
This looks to be the perfect move for Ward should interest from Millwall result in an official bid.
The player has no future at Forest, and approaching the second half of his career, needs to be playing regular football if he is to prolong his time in the game and with the Northern Irish national side.
Millwall could be the perfect fit for the player, with the squad already boasting a couple of Ward’s international colleagues, and his spirited nature will certainly appeal to fans at The Den.
