Sky Bet Championship side Millwall are closing in on a deal to sign Ipswich Town Bartosz Bialkowski, according to reports from London News Online.

The 31-year-old looks to be on his way out of Ipswich this summer following the Tractor Boys' relegation to League One, despite making 30 appearances in all competitions last term.

The Polish shot-stopper signed a new deal at Portman Road last year after winning three consecutive Player of the Year awards, but is now available to move onto pastures new, with Birmingham City being credited with an interest in the goalkeeper.

Now, it is claimed that Millwall are close to signing Bialkowski, who has previously played for Notts County and Southampton. It is understood that the Lions need to address a few final details before completing the deal.

Neil Harris is believed to be in the market for two goalkeepers this summer, with David Martin leaving for West Ham, Tom King signing for Newport, and Ben Amos returning to parent club Bolton Wanderers after his loan spell at The Den.

Having made just shy of 180 appearances for Ipswich, Bialkowski is clearly an experienced goalkeeper who will be looking to provide stability for Millwall next season.

The Verdict

Bialkowski is a very, very talented goalkeeper, who perhaps hasn't been given the credit that he deserves following Ipswich's recent downfall.

He commands his box really well, as you would expect from a man who stands at 6-foot-4, but he also gets down well to pull off some quite fantastic saves at times.

It seems as if Millwall are getting him for a bargain price too, and it could prove to be a very shrewd addition for Neil Harris' side.
