As per a story on page 60 of today's printed Mirror, Millwall fear that they will be priced out of a deal for Ben Marshall.

The versatile 27-year-old is currently on loan at the Lions from Wolves where he has helped the South East London based club into the top six at this point in the campaign.

Certainly, no-one would have expected that even a few months ago but with Premier League football now a possibility, Neil Harris would surely like to keep the squad that got him there largely together.

Even if they do not go up, though, he'll want to keep the likes of Marshall around but it seems as though the price could prove too steep for the men from the New Den.

The report suggests that Marshall is valued at £1 million by Wolves but the price could now be jacked up with other clubs apparently keen.

The Verdict

Marshall is a hard-working, handy player that many sides could benefit from.

It looks as though Millwall will have competition if they want to sign him, too, and it remains to be seen just whether they stump up the cash that Wolves want to let him go.

Certainly, though, they've surely got the added incentive of playing for a club on the up right now.
